For nearly 30 years, Laurie has been a “pioneer” (Forbes) and recognized leader in sustainability, social enterprise and impact investing. He is Founder and CEO of Impact Entrepreneur, LLC, the Impact Entrepreneur Center for Social and Environmental Innovation, and the Impact Entrepreneur Network, a 16,000-member global network for entrepreneurs, investors and scholars.
Laurie was the founding Executive Director of the international environmental organization, Orion, as well as the founder of a global think-tank, Triad Institute, and a "Founding” B-Corporation, Hotfrog, the first company to complete a private equity transaction on an impact investing exchange.
Laurie is the award-winning publisher and editor of bestselling books and magazines on sustainability and social impact, and the author of numerous articles on entrepreneurship and impact investing.
He is on the Advisory Board for the University of Vermont's Sustainable Innovation MBA program. He completed his undergraduate studies at Middlebury College, the University of Edinburgh, and his graduate work at Columbia University and the Middlebury College Bread Loaf School of English.
