Laurence G. Latimer
Head of Ventures, IEX

Laurence is an entrepreneur and investor with 20 years of experience developing, launching and scaling new technology products and services as well as investing in and advising early-stage startups.

Currently, Laurence is Head of Ventures for IEX, where he is responsible for the full innovation stack including M&A, corporate venture investments, BD/partnerships, and internal innovation/R&D. Laurence leads investments that diversify revenue into new markets and lines of business.

Prior to IEX, Laurence built a career identifying, building, and scaling new business initiatives and has led growth initiatives and new market entry in the U.S., Asia, Latin America, and Sub-Saharan Africa. He spent over 4 years at SunGard, where in his last role, Laurence was GM/P&L owner of an enterprise software and data solutions business serving capital markets firms across the Americas and responsible for a global workforce in the US, Brazil, Hong Kong, India and Tunisia.

Before SunGard, Laurence held senior product, operations, and business roles at several venture-backed and bootstrapped startups. He began his post-graduate career as a consultant at McKinsey & Company where he served CEOs of fortune 1000 companies and developed expertise in telecommunications, media and finance.

Laurence commits significant time to serving mission driven causes focused on financial inclusion and capital access. He is Vice Chair for Princeton’s Annual Giving Committee, Co-Founder and Co-Chair of the Princeton Alumni Angels of Greater NY, and advises several startups. In addition, Laurence has been an angel investor for over ten years and serves as an advisor to the Cavendish Impact Foundation.

Laurence earned his undergraduate degree from The Ohio State University and a graduate degree from the Woodrow Wilson School at Princeton University where he was a Public Policy and International Affairs Fellow. He was born, raised and currently resides in Brooklyn, NY with his wife and two sons.
