Dr. Feng (Johnson) Qian is a tenured associate professor of health policy and management at University at Albany-State University of New York. Johnson is passionate about enabling AI, Big Data, medical innovations to disrupt healthcare industry and improve population health and happiness. He is a real-world outcomes researcher with clinical background in cardiac surgery and business training in finance and healthcare investment. He has 12 years of proven experience leading funded clinical evaluation studies, strong skills of team building and leadership, project development and management, communication with various stakeholders, cross-disciplinary and cross-border collaborations, and public presentation and paper/proposal writing. He has advised healthcare venture capital firms such as Digitalis Ventures and award-winning biomedical startups such as Kenzen. He has led multiple grants funded by NIH, American Heart Association (AHA), CDC, and Association of State and Territorial Health Officials (ASTHO) and published 45 papers in leading medical journals. Currently, he serves on New York State Cardiac Advisory Committee Executive Committee and Columbia Business School Alumni Club of New York Healthcare Committee. He is also founder and leader of Columbia Business School MD-MBA group. He was the national program director for Asian & Pacific Islanders Caucus for Public Health.

Johnson received his medical education and residency training in cardiac surgery from Shanghai Medical University, MSc in clinical science from National University of Singapore, PhD in health services research and policy from University of Rochester, and MBA from Columbia Business School."
